Basic Ministry Training and Certification
Zion School of Ministry offers three Certificate programs. This is the basic, entry level program at ZiSOM aimed at giving students basic knowledge in Christian Foundations, Biblical Studies, and Theological Studies. All these programs are based largely on the curriculum provided by ThirdMill Ministries.
Certificate of Christian Foundations
Understanding the Foundational Truths of the Christian Faith
The Certificate of Christian Foundations program is a one year long program of study in the foundational teachings of the Christian Faith. These courses are designed to give adequate understanding of Bible basics, Biblical Doctrine and the very foundation upon which the Christian faith is established.
Certificate of Biblical Studies
Making the most of our time with the Bible for Ministry
The Biblical Studies Certificate program takes the student deeper into the teachings of the Bible by examining various Bible books and Bible interpretation principles. The courses in this Certificate Program are designed to equip the student with tools necessary to understand and apply the Bible in their personal life and Ministry.
Certificate of Theological Studies
Understanding Basic Theology for Ministry
The Theological Studies Certificate program takes the student beyond basic, foundational level understanding of Bible teachings into a more comprehensive study of the various Biblical Doctrines. At this level, the student learns about the various doctrines that make the Christian Faith stand out as they are brought into contact with God and his purposes for mankind and all of creation. This program also features a course in Biblical Ethics; helping students learn how to make Biblically sound and God-honoring decisions for their lives and ministry.
DIPLOMA PROGRAMS
Introducing Pastoral and Ministry Expertise!
The Diploma programs present students with the opportunity to choose from three concentrations in either Christian Leadership, Pastoral Ministry, or Biblical and Theological Studies.
Diploma of Christian Ministry/Leadership
Introducing Christian Ministry!
This is a 2 years Diploma program designed to give students working knowledge and practical experience in the practice of Christian Ministry and Church Leadership. Upon Graduation, students are ready to take up ministry in their local churches as Associate Ministers, Ministry Team Leaders, Outreach coordinators, Small Group Teachers/Facilitators, Board Members, etc. Students are trained in this program to play a supportive role to the Pastoral leadership of the Church.
Diploma of Pastoral Ministry
Cultivating Pastoral Excellence!
This is a 2 years Diploma program designed to train students in the area of Pastoral Ministry, with a focus on Ministry within the context of the local church. Students who Graduate from this program will be ready to take up ministry as local church Pastors, Associate Ministers, Pastoral Caregivers, Ministry Team Leaders, Youth Pastors, Family Ministers, etc. Students enrolled in this program gain special skills in congregation care and leadership development.
Diploma of Biblical and Theological Studies
Becoming a Bible Teacher!
This 2 years Diploma program is designed to give students the knowledge, tools, and skills required for proper study, interpretation, and application of the Bible.
Students who graduate from this program are equipped for Biblical interpretation and discussions in basic Biblical doctrines. They are ready for ministry as church Pastors, Christian Education Ministry Team Leaders, Church Bible School teachers, Discipleship Pastors, etc.
